Dr. Razvan Dadu earned his medical degree at the Iuliu Hatieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Cluj, Romania, and completed his residency in internal medicine at the Yale University-Bridgeport Hospital in Bridgeport, Conn. He completed fellowship training in preventive cardiology (focusing on atherosclerosis and complex lipid problems), cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where he served as chief fellow in interventional cardiology. He also completed an additional one-year fellowship in structural heart disease at the DeBakey Heart and Vascular Institute in Houston.

An interventional and structural cardiologist, Dr. Dadu currently practices at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center. He is one of the main surgeons on the team who performed the first TAVR (transcatheter aortic valve replacement) and transcatheter edge-to-edge mitral valve repair procedures at Memorial Hermann Memorial City. In the catheterization lab, Dr. Dadu performs structural/valvular and coronary procedures and specializes in the transcatheter treatment of patients with valvular heart disease and using the radial approach for percutaneous coronary interventions. He treats patients with acute coronary syndrome and serves as the leader of the STEMI/Chest Pain program at Memorial Hermann Memorial City. A supporter of innovation and technology, Dr. Dadu also regards the field of structural and interventional cardiology as a “team sport” where successful outcomes are driven by collaboration between multiple physician members.

In his training and career, Dr. Dadu has received several awards including Outstanding Scholarly Activities at Yale University-Bridgeport Hospital, Best Research Award at Baylor College of Medicine and Advanced Fellow Overall Excellence Award at the DeBakey Heart and Vascular Institute. An American College of Cardiology Fellow, he has also developed original research in cardiovascular disease that has been presented at national meetings and published in numerous medical journals.
