\nDr. Amor has lived in Houston, Texas since 2007. He completed his training in Orthopedic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, which included work at all of the major hospitals in the Texas Medical Center. He spent extensive time on the orthopedic trauma service at Ben Taub General Hospital, and was recognized for his commitment to patient care with the “Dr. Michael Epstein Junior Resident Award” during his second year of training. He served as Chief Resident during his final year of residency training, and was recognized at graduation for obtaining the highest academic achievement.
\nPrior to beginning practice, Dr. Amor elected to pursue an additional year of subspecialty training in disorders of the hand and upper extremity at Baylor College of Medicine. During this year, he spent a considerable amount of time at Texas Children’s Hospital and Shriners Hospital for Children, which gave him a special understanding of hand and upper extremity problems affecting children and babies. He also again spent time at Ben Taub General Hospital, gaining experience with reconstruction of complex post-traumatic disorders of the upper extremity.
\nDr. Amor specializes in treating disorders of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. This includes fractures, dislocations, tendon injuries, nerve injuries, arthritis, and sports injuries. He focuses on the optimal non-operative management for conditions that do not require surgery, and can sometimes offer arthroscopic or minimally invasive options when surgery becomes necessary.
\nDr. Amor joined the faculty of the University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 2013 as an Assistant Professor. He is dedicated to providing high quality care for all his patients.
